Several steps in the process

Three views of the backyard wall. This was a tough week. I was gone most of the days and Leslie got a strange sinus infection. To top it off the new cabinets you see in the last picture did not meet our expectations in regards to functionality.

We envisioned the lower cabinets to be rebuilt in the same dimensions as the original so that the fronts were even with brick end cap. Because of the new floor, the dishwasher height, and the assumptions they made (incorrectly) that we wanted the "standard" height, the cabinets are now 1 inch higher than the end cap. Also the front stands proud of the bricks little less than an inch.
Long story short, there is not much we can do unless we want to rip out all the boxes and start over, but that would entail cutting a hole in the new floor to make the dishwasher sit lower. So while the end product will look fantastic, it will not meet our expectation for height. Only time will tell how it will effect the actual functionality. Posted by Picasa
